Low Water Itinerary

Day 1 Friday: IQUITOS - NAUTA - EMBARKATION - MARAÑON RIVER
We will meet at Iquitos International Airport then enjoy lunch either at a local restaurant or en route to the ship. The afternoon continues with an introduction to the historic city of Iquitos and the opportunity to meet an indigenous Amazon community.

In the evening, we will board Aria Amazon. Settle into your generously sized suite as you begin one of life’s greatest adventures. Following an introduction from our naturalist guides and a routine safety drill, gather at the restaurant for the first of many Amazonian cuisine experiences created by Aria Amazon’s renowned consulting chef, Pedro Miguel Schiaffino.

Day 2 Saturday: AMAZON RIVER - YACAPANA ISLANDS - NAUTA CANO RIVER
Start the day with an early-morning birdwatching session along the majestic Amazon River. After breakfast, head out on a skiff excursion along the Yanayacu River, a tributary of the Amazon. Keep your eyes open in search of parrots, hawks, monkeys, and sloths. In the evening, embark on an excursion in the black waters of Nauta Caño. End the night under the incredible stars of the Peruvian Amazon.

Day 3 Sunday: YANAYACU RIVER - MARANON RIVER - VILLAGE VISIT - JUNGLE WALK OR BIKING
Commence today’s adventures near the main entrance of Pacaya Samiria National Reserve, cruising along Yanayacu Pucate in the comfort of our state-of-the-art skiffs. Visit an Amazonian village to meet the natives and see a demonstration of Aguaje palm harvesting. Kayak, canoe, and swim in these unspoiled black waters, keeping a look-out for the Amazon’s legendary pink dolphins. In the afternoon, take a jungle walk while looking for flora and fauna such as medicinal trees, insects, and poison dart frogs. Learn more about the different rainforest stratas and see the unforgettable giant water lilies.

Day 4 Monday: NAUTA TOWN - MANATEE RESCUE CENTER
In the morning, take a guided visit to the local market and marvel at the regional produce of the Peruvian Amazon, and sample exotic snacks if you wish.

Return to the Aria Amazon for breakfast before disembarkation. En route to the airport, visit the Manatee Rescue Center, where orphaned Amazonian manatees rehabilitate before they are released back into the wild.
