Cruise Description |
7 Night Cruise sailing from Marseille to Tarragona aboard Crystal Symphony.
The beauty of Spain comes alive in this cruise, which takes in island living, pyrotechnical sunsets, and plenty of fiestas. Casting off from the French port of Marseille, your first port of call is Palamos, a beautiful coastal fishing village equidistant between Barcelona and the French border. Pretty Porto Mahon follows, where visitors can enjoy stunning architecture, views, and food all in one place! The quiet side of Ibiza comes next, then Alicante for plenty of fun in the sun. Valencia will surprise you with its stunningly futuristic architecture, then it’s on for an overnight and disembarkation in Taragona, Spain's most important Roman town.
Highlights of this cruise:
Marseille
Marseille is France`s oldest city and one of the Mediterranean`s premier ports. Amid the big-city bustle, the old port is a quaint landscape of historic charm: colorful fishing boats sail past the imposing Fort Saint-Jean, narrow streets wander among ancient churches and cobbled squares, while the venerable Basilica overlooks the scene from the hilltop above.
Ibiza
Flower power was once as prevalent on this “White Isle” as are today’s glitzy nightclubs, for Ibiza was a hub of hippie culture in the 1960s. But dig deeper and you’ll find a heritage more suitable for an island gem in the Mediterranean. Ibiza Town’s UNESCO-listed Dalt Vita chronicles much of this history, with monuments and architectural vestiges of nearly 1,000 years.
Tarragona
Overlooking the azure Mediterranean Sea, Tarragona offers much to those who like to spend a day relaxing on beautiful beaches and enjoying breathtaking coastal vistas. But it is not all just fun in the sun; Tarragona has a legacy dating back to Roman times, and transports all who visit here back to antiquity. It’s strategic position on the coast has contributed to its historical significance and its role as a bustling port city, and the beautifully well-preserved Roman ruins, including the iconic Amphitheatre and Pont del Diable aqueduct are a must for any history lovers among you, while the medieval old town, which boasts cobbled streets, charming squares, and the stunning Cathedral of Tarragona will provide entertainment for those who like to stroll through the streets and soak up the ambience of a place. The city is found in the Catalonia region of northeastern Spain, along the Mediterranean coast, about 100 kilometers (62 miles) southwest of Barcelona, and embodies the famous Spanish fiesta (and siesta) attitude. Find an inviting Tapas place, order a glass of local wine and enjoy small bites that redeinfe the meaning of travelling with taste. The city`s lively atmosphere comes alive during cultural festivals, celebrating its heritage and vibrant present. |
